Rising workforce finds opportunities in Indian Unicorns

2021 was a celebratory year for the Indian startup ecosystem with 44 companies entering the ‘Unicorn Club’. The dynamic startup space today is not only creating innovative solutions to real-life problems but is also generating employment opportunities for millions of professionals in the rising workforce. According to a recent report by apna.co – India’s leading jobs and professional networking platform, there has been a 2X quarter on quarter (QoQ) growth in job posting by top unicorns in India. With these startups scaling their platforms/products and expanding their reach deeper into Bharat, non-metro cities became a hiring hub for them creating a plethora of economic opportunities.  Unicorns were seen posting maximum jobs in cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Surat, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Nagpur

With Indians spending maximum time at their homes due to the pandemic and its subsequent remote working culture, platforms became a one touch service providers for all their needs. E-commerce, social commerce, and food delivery emerged as the top hiring sectors. Online education platforms were also recorded generating a variety of job opportunities for the professionals in the country.

This can be due to a variety of factors including growth opportunities. better compensation models, flexibility, and convenience offered by startups.
