Three-day workshop for Water security planning at village under Voltas Company’s CSR project in Waghodia

As a part of its CSR mandate, Voltas Limited has launched a new initiative spread across the 10 villages of the Waghodia block in Gujarat. This initiative is focused on addressing WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) needs in the project villages covering estimated population of around 30000 people.

22nd March is celebrated as a World Water Day and to commemorate this occasion, the Water Security and Budget Workshop was organized by CSPC sponsored by Voltas in Waghodia at Madodhar village from 23-03-2022 to 25-03-2022.

The objective of this three-day event is to prepare the village community for the future challenges of their water demand for drinking, irrigation and other use. The three-day event engaged the village community and leaders from village institutions to sensitize them and spread awareness about water resources, its current status, future availability, use and demand. Through the data shared by the villagers, the CSPC teams are working to prepare a water budget to give insights about the water deficit or surplus scenario at the village level. Basis this information the villagers will prepare immediate, mid-term and long-term action plan for ensuring water sustainability and quality. The efforts will be useful for the village in future to plan their water related projects supported by the Govt. or other funding agencies.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Dharmesh Kapadia, Plant Head, Voltas Company, in presence of Mr. Amit Makwana, Manager-HR, Mr. Nitin Borse, Taluka Panchayat Member Ms.Pramod Kunwarba Chavda. The three-day workshop will be facilitated by Kamleshbhai Solanki, CSPC. A group of 35-40 citizens of Madodhar village will participate and trained in water security planning.
